In which our heroes ...
Orhan 4 Day 37 TE 6063
We spend some time with the Zorian fremen. We teach them stuff. They
teach us stuff. Kyrik teaches his priest dude written langugae.
Haeraan stays behind to train the hundred feydakin that will train the
thousands more.
Oathar scouts and sees a giant lugraki attack en route. No one else notices
it. Oh wait, they are 21 miles away.
We go around them
Orhan 4 Day 39 TE 6063
We come upon the Eastern Outskirts of the city. We start heading in towards
the center. Oh wait. There are lugraki everywhere. There are a bunch of
structures near the center of the town with a well and lot's of huts and
crude stone structures, as well as a number of holes in the ground and
lugraki going in and out of the ground.
We try to figure out how to get past the 1000's of lugraki in the city
without disguising ourselves as lugraki. Imre does a divination and gets
the fool in the center surrounded by swords cards.
Imre heads in to scout. He comes back and tells us only the elite lugraki
can go into the central buildings.
Kyrik skydives into town, and merges into the walls of the building and
explores. Building 1 has two floors, hundreds of lugraki, and no basement.
En route to building 2, he encoutners a tunnel. It turns though, so he
move on.
He finds basement of building 2. There's another tunnel filled with lugraki
leading down.
Spiraling around, he comes upon an opening. It's dark. He casts darkvision.
It's a large cavernish area with several entrances on each side. On 1
wall is a large tarp. He gets out of the wall. We send in reinforcements.
Imre and Alynna teleport in. Then Oathar and Mornan follow.
There is a big door under the tarp, with a giant Symbol of Death in the
middle. Sigh.
There is also a clairvoy point watching us.
We cover the symbol with an illusion.
We open the metal door with Oathar sacrificing gold to pick the lock.
We open the stone door with the key.
We open the kregora door with Mornan Zaon's handprint and the god constructs
passwords. (The GC identifies the appropriate king in ancient Zorian.)
Bethooven's ninth starts playing, the door open, and a giant crack opens
behind us with a great ourpouring of water.
Oathar casts dam.
We run in. It's filled with loot. There's a dessicated basalisk in the
center of the room. We loot!
The dam breaks! Oathar puts up another.
We loot several more rounds.
Lugraki show up. Really. Inside the vault. Sigh. We fight! (Oathar loots)
Alynna reaches into the chest of at least 7 lugraki and just pulls their
hearts out with her bear hands. She snaps the heads off of some.
There is much looting and fighting. Fighting and looting. Oathar casts
haste. Alynna and Kyrik fight at double speed. Oathar and others loot
at double speed. So far, we are at 14.9k gold retrieved. More orc killing
and looting.
We're up to around 28k gold recovered (out of 100k) when evil brother
shows up. He says, give me all the money and leave, or my lugraki kill
your sister and sister-son.
Summary: OK, now we've got a problem. We're in the kregora
lined vault. The door is open, but can't close without taking down the
dam. Outside is a 100,000 gallons of water waiting to get in past our
force dam. Evil Brother has Alynna's relative hostage thousands of miles
away and is threatening to kill them if we do anything. No merging into
kregora lined walls. We can't hurt him because if he dies, the universe
will end in the following round due to speedy elven soul depature. Oh
yeah, that 100,000 gallons of water out there? That's unholy water.
Sigh.
