In which our heroes ...
Orhan 3 Day 63 TE 6064
We use the portal. We emerge out one of the six panes up in the high chamber.
Imre fusses with one of the statues and finds a couple of crystals, a flute
and a petrified wood tree branch. Imre wakes the statues up with the magic
water and their summoning names.
We get a purple crystal, a red crystal, a flute, and a branch of petrified
wood. (Alynna has a smokey crystal.)
The petrified wood will grow into a bridge up to 50 feet long and three
feet wide. It turns back into a branch when you are done.
We teleport back to the lighthouse and find the light piece of Andraax
paper.
There is a message for us at the hotel.
"If you wish to seek the Winter Light, come to the Parchment Dawning."
(It's written by Michel Ken, whoever that is.)
We go to the parchment dawning. A different proprietor gives him a little
book. "Observations on the lights of the northern hemisphere." At the back
of the book is a little card "Come back this evening after we're closed."
While we wait, we head back out to the animist loremaster's house. After
harassing the ferret, we head to the ancient circle to investigate.
We examine the acorn altar. Imre puts on the channeling version of the
acorn amulets. Imre is very pennitent to duck beneath the whirligig death
blades Oathar discovered in the altar. He uses both amulet like keys from
the underside of the altar to push it open. Inside is a hammer.
Imre does a divination saying that the paper in the orrey came from the
bridge.
A ring of pillars surrounding a platform around which are more pillars.
In the center is a small area with a bunch of grooves radiating out from
the center. We've never been there.
We go to the hotel for a luxurious meal.
Then we slip around to the back door of the Parchment Dawning. The back
door opens and a hand emerges and beckons. We all go in.
Inside is a single candle with two men. One the old man at the counter,
two the young man at the counter a few days ago. We wish to contact the
Winter light eh? The house of the winter light is to the west on the peninsula.
It's hard to find, and we should meet another representative.
Travel west, following the highway all the way to Za'ak'a. We will be
met by representative there.
Oathar shows them the sketch of the pillars and grooves. Yeah, they know
where that is. It is the Yaalc Aenawg (Kugor - Guardian Circle of Song).
It's an ancient site holy to the Lotanna located on Yan Tannis. (Isle of
guarded road).
We go to the inn for the night.
Orhan 3 Day 64 TE 6064
We teleport to the Yan Tannis, several hops. Then we go to the rings of
pillars. The pillars play notes if you blow through them. The four notes
of the key are 1 pillar clockwise from north south east and west. We split
up and blow through the correct four pillars. A hemisphere of shimmering
light springs up. The grooves drop down into a circular spiral staircase.
We head down the stairs. 20 feet down is a large stone door, with a small
hexagonal hole. The grey crystal fits. The door slides open. We go in.
One comes to a vestabule. To the left a ring shaped chamber. (Outer wall
reddish light, central core is black marble tiles. Facing the entrace on
the core is the same set of dots on the four colums above.) A grinding
sound starts when Alynna plays the four notes on the flute and a section
of marble tiles slides open. Inside is a space hollowed out with several
niches.
Across from the doorway is a parcel wrapped with black cloth, a set of
bracers acorn motif, a headband, a small box, a metal tube. The parcel
contains a sword. Hilt, is wrapped in leather bound in gold wire. Scabbard
is made of yellow tinted laen. The sword inside is a bastard sword of yellow
laen, leaf shaped with an oval hole at the longesr point. A light flickers
within. Etched on the blade in Eilar is written "Bringer of the Absense
of Cold". The tube contains the blue paper of water. The box has some
more crystals.
