In which our heroes ...
Orhan 4 Day 5 TE 6052
When we last left our heroes, they had just challenged the god of the
Trogli. The party furiously preps all their usual spells and proceeds
to the abode of the god. During this time, the lead Trog asks "Who
will be your High Priest?" It appears that the current god has a
High Priest. When asked what the High Priest looks like, the Trog points
at Vallandra, thus leading to the conclusion that the Priest is a Dyar.
The party is lead to a set of closed metal doors, which the Trog indicates
the party must open. The party comes to the conclusion that the plan is
"Get Them", but no one wants to open the door. After determining
that there is an enchantment on the door, Imre finally uses Undoor to
get rid of it. Beyond the door is a room with a large fire demon (a Noble
Gogonaur) sitting on a throne and a Dyar sitting behind and to the side.
Combat ensues. Kyrik, D (with her bow) and Imre target the Dyar. Haeraan
and Vallandra go after the demon. After a few rounds, the Dyar goes down.
However, Haeraan and Vallandra have to ward off B heat crits every round.
Eventually the demon gets a top out and Vallandra goes down on hit points.
Kyrik steps in and eats a heat crit that destroys his equipment, and Haeraan
runs low on Fate Points and also starts eating heat crits. However, the
demon soon goes down and the party rejoices.
The party searches the Dyar and find a ring and a staff. The staff is
determined to be a Staff of Absolution (10 charges). Imre attunes to the
ring and a suddenly a voice calls out (in Dyar) saying "Why have
you called me?" D, knowing Dyar, uses mimicry to try to convince
the voice that it was all just an accident and the call was accidental.
The voice on the other end seems to accept this and the communication
stops. However, Vallandra thinks that she recognizes the voice; she can't
quite place it, but it sounds familiar, like someone from her family.
At this point, the Trogli enter the room, immediately falling to their
knees, and begin chanting at the party. The lead Trog asks Haeraan, "What
is your command, my Lord?" Haeraan introduces the Trogli to the Gospels
According to Reann, while D instructs them to bathe. They have some problems
with some of the ideas and instructions, lacking the words for "bath/bathe"
and "friend", but they chisel the main ideas into the walls
of the cavern at Haeraan's instruction.
However, when the party prepares to leave, the Trogli object. "Who
will protect us and lead us?" claim the Trogli. Haeraan's attempt
to convince them that they can fend for themselves fails to get the Trogli
to relent. Finally the group decides that since they need miners to work
the silver mine anyway, perhaps the Trogli can tag along and go to the
mine until a better solution presents itself.
The group, with Trogli tribe in town, goes back to the cave and then proceeds
to the mine again. After a couple of days travel, during which each party
member gets a squad of Trogli around them, they arrive at the silver mine,
which really does have a vein of silver running through one cave wall.
The Trolgi settle in and the party debates what to do with their tribe.
Haeraan tells about the the dream he has about the possible fates he can
choose from (leading an army of Trogli, taking them back to his manor
home in Rhakhaan, etc) and looks for ideas. Suddenly, several Trogli run
up in terror yelling about Lugroki. It's the Dragon Turd tribe! Imre greets
them enthusiastically; the rest of the party is not so thrilled. The Lugroki
tell how they now live in the mountains here and invite the group to dinner.
Imre, D, and Kyrik accept, the rest of the party demurs. The group that
accepts gets dinner (not too bad) and a tour of the caves that the "Rock
Fall Down Mountain Tribe" now occupies.
Imre comes back and proposes that the Lugroki tribe be designated as the
guardians for the Trogli, who will work the silver mine as well as the
iron mine of the Lugroki. Haeraan is not thrilled by the idea, but after
he recruits and trains several of the Trogli who will try to keep them
from backsliding, he finally agrees.
