Orhan 4 Day 67 TE 6065
We go to the rescue. Oathar identifies the kidnappers as pawns of house
Gugulon. The thugs get captured, and the house guys escape. Oathar spreads
some disinformation trying to start a gang war between Gugulon and Alaxatan,
and then they all teleport out before the red cloaks arrive.
Orhan 4 Day 68 TE 6065
We get a little note that says, "Please stop bringing drug dealers into
the city. -KM"
OK, it's clearly time to get our native guide out of here.
Orhan 4 Day 69 TE 6065
We teleport back to the swamp via the town.
We head out to the southwest over the swamp. Mostly flying. After a couple
of hours, Eku thinks their lair is nearby.
We cast our water breathing spells and head down into the swampy tunnel
in the ground. As we head down, we find three passages. The passage to
the right has an illusionary pile of gold in it. We head to the left. It
comes to a cavern. Inside, are illusionary shipwrecks with piles of gold
everywhere. Lot's of pointy bits and tripwires.
Alynna finds a trap door under the traps and uses controtions to get herself
under there to where it is. She listens at the door and hears nothing.
She finds the trap on the trap door. She removes the traps on the trapped
trap door. She unlocks the locked trapped trap door. Inside is a store
hold of a small ship. There are a number of crates and things. On one side
near teh front is a faintly glowing porcelin vase charged with Essense
and not cursed. It's trapped. She thinks she diarms the trap. She takes
the vase. It glows with a blue dragon motif.
Oathar identifies the vase as a dragon whelpling summoning vase. It also
allows the holder to command the whelpling. It also Dispels Essence 100'
radius once a day. It's also remotely triggerable. In fact, it goes off
and we lose many of our buffs. We retreat for the moment. We hide the vase
in a concealced cache up top.
We head back down in and take the center passage this time. Alynna has
no time for Unpresense, so scouts ahead. The center passage branches into
left and right. There a glow from the left hand passage. We go right instead.
Heading further down we eventually come to a seaweed curtin. Imre thinks
it's stranglekelp. On the other side of the strangle kelp is a large shark
as Alynna finds when she teleports through. She teleports back to us. Haeraan
sees a bunch of sharks in tehre with a stone ruin in the center. The sharks
seems to be guarding it.
Haeraan long doors right past the whole shark/ghost town filled cavern
beyond the second kelp curtain. He pops right back with a tried to teleport
into a wall effect. Kyrik does a quick scouting mission into the place
and see an altar with a number of shiny objects on it, surrounded by skeletons.
Then he teleports back.
We scout some more heading down the other passage. There's a faint light
which gets brighter, and it opens into another big cavern. Oathar sees
a magical underwater kindom. Everyone else sees an abandoned city of shell-like
things. Oathar argues with some mermaids and the like. Haeraan detects
a single presense down in one of the shell thingys. Haeraan does a remote
mind typing somehow and detects a level 50 gas drake.
Oathar gets rid of the illusions for himself and starts heading down towards
the gas drake. Again there's an altar with shiny's on it. And a single
coin in the center of the altar. We sense the altar. It has essence-mentalism
on the coin. The coin is dispel essense 100' radius, and casts awaken when
triggered.
Oathar casts teleport on the coin, it vanishes, takes out his sight, and
teleports away to the cache. The drake erupts from beneath the surface
of the ground and the battle commences. We fight!
It casts Weapon Alteration on everyone, subtly altering our weapons so
that specific skills no longer matter. Haeraan attacks, Alynna attacks,
we all attack. Smite smite smite.
Then the dragon bellows and his call echoes throughout the cavern. We
worry about what's coming and fight on. Oh wait, another dragon appears!
The existing dragon casts again. All of our buffs go down again. Sigh.
We fight on. One dragon goes invisible, and then breathes on us and we
have poison issues.
Oathar gets frustrated and starts doing crazy things like pretending to
cast mentalism spells and saying "Inform Sulthon N'Shang that one of the
targets has left the blast area."
We fight one. Oathar gets aflicted with a fight your evil twin illusion.
They start tag teaming out with one healing and the other fighting. Sadly
for them, we do get the upper hand. So the fools retreat. Yes, that's right,
a pair of dragons retreated from our might after activating the self-destruct
rune on his secret lair. The whole place collapses as we teleport out.
