In which our heroes ...
Orhan 4 Day 69 TE 6065
They start tag teaming out with one healing and the other fighting. Sadly
for them, we do get the upper hand. So the fools retreat. Yes, that's right,
a pair of dragons retreated from our might after activating the self-destruct
rune on his secret lair. The whole place collapses as we teleport out.
Having driven the dragons off for now, the Kuluku accept us into the tribe.
They will teach us Tlocklock, and they will give us 200 troops for the
end of the world. They also want to know anything we find out about their
shadow brothers.
Orhan 5 Day 1 TE 6065
We putter around.
Imre investigates Nightmare Vine, a noxious plant.
Haeraan does recon.
Oathar goes to Nomikos. He fails to find more Earthwarden facilities.
The storm Wizard briefs us about the city of the dead technology.
We get to the City of the Dead. It's got a Brotherhood of the Word base
next to it. The Terrans are busy arming their own helicopter to go down
there and deal with the automated defense system helicopters. We watch
as the start loading the Air to Air missiles.
We slip past them into the pit.
They appear to have attached some sort of transmitter or beacon to the
top of the pit. It's a comm relay so they can communicate while they are
in the pit. Oathar casts Waiting Flame on the comm relays so they will
explode at dawn.
Down below there appear to be four gargoyle-like creatures with glowing
red eyes.
We fly down on the north edge of town, hoping to avoid the gargoyles in
the center. As we fly down, we notice a skeleton or zombie every so often.
Sometimes they are motionless, sometimes they are patrolling.
We make self-discipline rolls to keep up unpresense. Predictably, no one
but Oathar bothers to keep it up. The gargoyles start calling out, "The
living are present!" All the undead start waking up and moving around looking
for us. Oathar decrees that none of you people are ever allowed to cast
Unpresense in his presense again.
We start kiting them gently back north. When we get close to the edge,
we teleport to teh center. The gargoyle facing our direction says, "The
living are present!"
Oathar casts a duration Unpresense on them, and then
they all leave to the base of the gargoyle tower. We land. Time to search.
We Stalk to dodge the random undead patrols and look around for interesting
stuff. Alynna sees an interesting doorway. She starts heading up to it,
when suddenly Imre sees her get attacked by a zombie which bumps into Imre.
He becomes visible. The zombie attacks.
Imre starts kiting the zombies off away from the interesting door. Oathar
starts reading the door. It's got words on it in Jintenni, but nothing
Oathar can understand. Vanpires start coming and Imre and Haeraan try to
keep them away while Oathar investigates what appears to be a warehouse.
Oathar and Alynna find a large set of lockers in one area and small cube
storage lockers in another. Most are open and empty, a few are closed and
locked. The locked ones have electronic locks. Oathar casts Portal on one
of the lockers and sees a suit within. He stuffs the suit into a bag of
holding. Alynna finds a control panel with the same language, but we can't
figure out what they mean. Alynna presses a green button. A light lights
up. Alynna presses another green button and another light lights up.
Haeraan and Imre fight vampires and zombies. Then they get into a mentalism
fight with the vampires. Meanwhile, they hear helicopters approaching.
Pressing buttons, a couple of bays come up from the floor, and a hovercraft
rises up out of the floor.
Outside, Haeraan holds off zombies while helicopter gunships approach
Imre.
Imre starts bending their rotor blades and the like while they start firing
weapons at him.
Oathar is gathering helicopter control boxes. He teleports up to Haeraan.
Oathar battles the helicopter in technical combat. He takes it over and
lands it, while the other two blast Imre and Haeraan a lot. We teleport
away with a helicopter and a couple of control boxes, as well as an advanced
fire fighting suit.
Brotherhood of the Word is still there though. Pesky. We bicker about
what to do about this next.
