In which our heroes ...
Orhan 5 Day 1 TE 6065
Brotherhood of the Word is still there though. Pesky. We hate those guys.
We bicker about what to do about this next.
Perhaps we should return to the city of the dead to get more loot.
While we're bickering, Haeraan goes off to consult with Luna's father.
He wonders if our preparations for the final battle are even worthwhile.
The count examines the stars that night and comes back with "The stars
say: Don't worry about it, you have it covered. Or perhaps you had will
have had it covered. Soemthing like that."
Haeraan Dreams:
In the City of the Dead:
- 1) Where is the laen lens? He sees a metal box mounted on
a wall with several metal pipes running in an out of the box. Yup, a
junction box. One of many.
- 2) Is there a focus of the undead there? He sees a peaceful
cemetary, and then the sun sets and all the hands start reaching up from
the ground. They keep coming up to get him. There are several mausaleums
with vampires and stuff coming out of them.
- 3) Aside from Ornithopters and the lens, what loot can we get? He
sees a series of clip shows with grease kids in souped up cars, and the
energizer bunny popping out of holes where we play whak-a-mole wth him
and steal his batteries.
- 4) What the most important thing the Brotherhood of the Word will
find there? Nothing.
We decide that that's not so bad.
We head back down in and go to the garage. We get the keys and put a tool
kit in the trunk. While Oathar prepares to teleport th eair car, the helicopter
flies a grid pattern mapping the area. On the roof the BotW is building
a couple of impropmtu comm relays.
We teleport the air car to the location near our underground storage chamber.
We find a junciton box that leads to pipes that head into the floor and
then down into the ground. We theorize that it's probably down beneath
the central tower.
We head there. There's a locked door at the base of the center tower.
We eventually pick it and head inside. "The living are present! The living
are present!" A bunch of search lights come into the area and the zombies
start converging. The terran helicopter turns to look. We slip in.
Alynna heads down the stairs first. We follow down with Haeraan and Imre
holding the top of the stairs. When the down people get to the bottom level
they pick the lock and leave the stairwell. There's a long corridor there.
It goes down to a bunch of storage boxes and regular storage boxes. Four
doors toal, and one big door at the very end. Nothing super exciting seems
in the storage boxes, and the junction boxes are empty, so they keep searching.
Meanwhile, up top, Imre and Haeraan are holding the stairwell.
Down below, the other three head into the giant machine room at the end
of the hall. Lot's of panels and buttons and conduits and other things
like that. Equipment everywhere. We recognize some forklift and pallet
pairs, rolly anti-grav platforms, etc. Several of the panels are lit, so
have power. There's an emination of cold coming from the extreme end of
the room. Oathar looks down there and there appears to be an area that's
been remodeled and opens up with a skeletal figure sitting on a throne.
Oathar identifies a crucial panel and Kyrik searches for his lens. Everyone
preps (including the lich). Three rounds later, we attack!
Alynna's jata bounces off the forcewall and flies off. Haeraan unloads
a repel undead 20 on the lich. He resists though, so pesky. He's higher
level than we are. We engage! Oathar tries to dispel the lich's defense.
The lich vanishes. Turns out he was an illusion and the lich was next to
us invivible. It casts on us. We resist mostly. Go fate points!
Open combat commences. Haeraan spends his first round declaring a general
retreat. Oh dear. That's a bad sign. Oathar casts a buffed up Returning.
We all get out. Kyrik calls the storm wizard and is told to put the tainted
lens into a Kregora box. Oathar buys a Kregora box for 11k, having been
gouged because somehow word got around that Oathar is desperate. He buys
a kregora box. It is delivered to the Storm Wizard with the box.
We go and check our hovercar. It seats six, has a spacious trunk, has
seatbelts, is unarmed, has lights, and radar system, and an interface which
would hook into GPS satellite if they existed. It will need some experimenting
to determine it's actual range. Max speed is 300mph.
Whew, we decide to head to Folenn. Oathar gets Harry and Sally and their
titanium muffin tins and ladle.
Orhan 5 Day 3 TE 6065
Then we head to Folenn. It's time for mooning the bladestorm.
Oathar moons the bladestorm for 187. Its attack roll is 83, giving it
a 270. Oathar takes a 66EKCK. Oathar almost dies, but is saved by fate.
He gets a small book entitled "Access Book". It has channeling and essence
power. The book allows Oathar to take any one cleric base spell up to his
level and gets that spell for one casting.
Kyrik moons the bladestorm for 330. Its attack roll is 88, giving him
a 418. Kyrik takes a lance to the chest for 130EPEPDP. Shot through heart
kills him, as does his crushed arm, much like his spilled guts. Yup, he
sure is dead. There's a lance through his heart. It's a +25 OB. +35 to
mounted combat. It autocasts Landing if you fall off your mount. It's coated
with mithril against large and superlarge.
Alynna moons the bladestorm for 300. Its attack roll is 72, give it a
372. Alynna takes a 91 I I D Electricity. Oh my godess. Alynna gets pasted.
It's not pretty. She got hit by a bolt of lightning. It was actually a
ring. It's a +15 RR to all magic. It casts the Cancel Realms once a day
each. It casts one of Unessence, Unmentalism, Unchanneling 1/week.
Haeraan moons the bladestorm for 160. Its attack roll is not so bad, he
takes a 20ES. It doesn't do too much to him beyond a standard gut shot.
A wand is impaled in his spleen. It's pretty. It's a x2 mult for astrologer
realm. It has Light I at will but is red so it doesn't spoil your night
vision. It also functions as a whip. +20DB.
Oathar goes again to cover Imre's stuff only mooning it for 150. Oathar
takes a 52EK, and gets a broken arm. He gives a book to Imre. It's the
book of copying. If you have it when someone casts a spell that you can
see, and it is no higher than your level, you can use the book to copy
that spell.
