Next time, we cleanse the Citadel!!!

That night, it's un-Kulthealy quiet in the city of the damned.

We see ghostly shapes of people wandering through the city. Ghostly flags adorn the walls and flutter in an invisible wind. The ghosts are smiling and happy and laughing, and just going about their business. suddenly, troops of ghostly lugraki boil and swarm over the people. Alarms sound, people scream, and battle commences. But the lugraki and trolls are victorious.

The vision shifts and we see a vision of the citadel and the doors open and people run out, but bursting through the front entrance of the citadel is a stream of lugraki. There's a ghostly shout, and several inhabitants rise up and engage the lugraki and we make initiative rolls. They attack us. Hey! We're not orcs!

A leather clad guy points at Alynna and says attack! Then a wolf and snake attack her. Then a short little gnomish guy appears and says attack at Oathar! Oathar eats lightning death!

Then another ghostly leather guy shows up and commands the forces of nature to grab Haeraan. They do so, but he dodges. A woman in leather shows up with leather armor and a mace. She says "Sorceror! Betrayer!" and attacks Imre. She casts Die! at him. He resists!

A guy with a silver circlet shows up and commands Alynna to destroy the rest of us. Imre is appalled. Haeraan says, "That's OK, she took Power!"

An astrologer says "Perish in the fire of the stars!" He holds up his hand and attacks Oathar. Fire everywhere! Another guy in robes comes out and says Sorceror! and attacks Imre. Suddenly, there's a murmer and a big ghostly shape appears over the citadel, saying "Sorceror! Destroyer! Betrayer!" Then all the ghosts get more DB.

Another guy shows up in robes and has a staff and says "Only darkness can fight darkness!" A giant black maw of a gate shows up and a giant flaming demon shows up. He's huge and flaming. "Now you die!" and he attacks Haeraan.

Then an invisible guys shows up and casts on Imre, but he resists.

All told, there are 9 guardsmen and a bunch of named ghosts. Wow.

Round 2:

Haeraan rushes the mentalist.

Imre goes off and Imre's at the ghosts! Alynna backs him up and shouts at the ghosts as well. They all pause for a moment and try to figure out if they are redeemed. Suddenly, the ghostly glow returns and say "The curse compels us!" and they return to the attack!

We cast a couple of spells mostly ineffectually.

Round 3:

Haeraan attacks the mentalist. The astrologer attacks Oathar, but gets cancelled. The mentalist casts on Haeraan. The cleric attacks Imre. Random pandemonium follows.

Round 4:

They attack us some more. We are losing. Oathar gets Absolved. In retribution, Haeraan finally kills the mentalist.

Round 5:

We fight back with vigor, since Oathar is down. The Imre casts Lifegiving V on Oathar and he's back, right now. We fight more! They try to absolve Oathar again, but bounce.

More rounds:

We fight! The seer fights and goes down, but then the mentalist gets up again. We put the Seer down, and the cleric brings him back up. Oathar puts the seer back down, and Haeraan tries to put the mentalist back down. Imre finally takes the cleric down. Haeraan takes down the invisible guy who's been healing them back up.

Countless rounds later:

We finally win and take over the citadel.
