How can I view your work?

Much of our recent work is available for viewing on our YouTube channel, Radical Rat Studios. You can also watch our content on MIT cable television and Xfinity on Campus.

What is Student Cable?

Student Cable is a student-run film group. We film both scripted and live shows, depending on the interests of the group. We also run MITV Channel 36, on the MIT cable television system. You can contact us at studentcable-exec@mit.edu.

What are ways I can be involved with Student Cable?

There are a lot of ways to be involved in Student Cable! We're always looking for camera operators, editors, directors, actors, and more. If you're interested in a role, or if you want to be involved but aren't sure how, email studentcable-exec@mit.edu. We'll be able to explain the different roles and help you find the part that's right for you.

How can I join Student Cable?

Does Student Cable only do scripted or live shows?

Student Cable does both scripted and live shows; we've worked on everything from multi-episode scripted drama content through to covering the 6.270 competition.

I have an idea for foo, can Student Cable help me?

Chances are, if you have an idea you're excited about, we'll be excited about it too. Email your idea to studentcable-exec@mit.edu and we can talk about how to get started on your idea.

What kind of equipment does Student Cable have?

Our newest cameras are a Panasonic GH4 and a Canon XA20 though we have plenty of other equipment as well! We have an assortment of microphones and lighting instruments. We use Final Cut Pro for editing.

Can I hire Student Cable to film something for me?

Student Cable will do contract work. Email studentcable-exec@mit.edu and we can talk about filming your event.
