Circuit Design Engineer – 76531BR

Location: Lexington, MA. The Electro-Optics Materials and Devices Group needs a circuit design and prototyping person to support a diverse array of electronic design challenges. Our design problems range from modest FPGA designs, often embedded into larger systems to novel analog circuit design for driving lasers and signal-conditioning for detectors. About half of the boards built support test and diagnostics of the lasers and detectors the Group fabricates. Some familiarity with electro-optics would be a great asset given the diverse design challenges the Group faces. For example, one of our near-term projects requires the design of pulse processing electronics for PMT's from analog discriminators to digital correlators.

REQUIRED: Minimum of an AS with at least 5 years of relevant experience. Experience with at least one FPGA design environment is required, with a modest preference for Xilinx. Strong design and debugging skills evidenced by deep involvement in the whole process of implementation from architecture through user qualification tests is required. Experience with MatLab is required, as is programming experience in one of the many development environments. Experience with using PCs is required as virtually all these circuits interface to a processor, often a PC running Windows.

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS: Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

DESIRED: Advanced education (i.e. Bachelors or Masters) would reduce the experience expected, and is desirable. In addition, experience with Altium, Mentor and LabView is desired as is experience with electro-optics.
