Bruker-AXS / MIT Symposium 2010

Information about location can be found here.

The Bruker-AXS / MIT Symposium is an annual event, directed towards chemists and crystallographers from the greater Boston area. The next symposium will be held on Satruday, February 20 2010. The motto of the 2010 Symposium will be "Non-Standard Data Collection Strategies in Single Crystal X-Ray Diffraction" and will focus on unconventional setups to get structural or other information from crystals that would be difficult to obtain with routine methods.

The symposium will be coupled with a Workshop about Crystal Structure Refinement on Friday, February 19 2010, the day before the symposium. The number of participants for the workshop is limited to 30 -- please apply early, as we will grant places mostly upon a first-come-first-serve basis.

Special Announcement: Bruker AXS will bring one of their new X2S Benchtop Systems to the Symposium. From Thrusday February 19th to Saturday February 20th the instrument will be on site. It will be fully functional and ready for data collection. If you would like to bring your own crystal for the X2S, please get in touch with Bruce Noll for scheduling: Bruce.Noll@bruker-axs.com

In addition to the workshop and the symposium there will be a Poster Session. Every participant is more than welcome to present a poster, preferably taking into account the motto of the meeting. A qualified group of judges, which has yet to be determined, will be rewarding one poster with the Bruker/MIT Poster Prize (generously funded by Bruker-AXS).
