The Human Factor
The Habitat

The Habitat is a vital component of the mission with many different functions and utilities. The most obvious is to protect the crew from the Martian environment and the adverse effect it can have on them. The habitat is to be structurally sound , a home for the astronauts, and a base for all operations on Mars.
