Mar 3 March 14th details for the Hughes class: come to the Copley Marriott Hotel on Huntington Ave (in Copley Place Mall) at 5:50.  register at the Mass Telecom Association meeting.  class is from 6-7 at a room there, then conference

   

Paper Due Dates: (email to zolot@mit.edu and put a hard copy in Deborah's mailfolder)

1. Due by 6PM, Feb 28th. 1000 words.
Take the first three speakers.. Exodus, ATT, E credit... and write a Memo to
the CEO detailing what new strategic directions that they should take are.
Critique their current strategy.

2. Due by 6 PM, April 4th. 1000 words
Take the next three speakers.. Akamai, Escalate, Hughes... and write a Memo
to the CEO analyzing what acquisition they should make and why it is both
affordable and which would improve their strategic position.

3. Due by 6 PM, May 2nd....write a Memo...1000 words. to your Uncle Howard,
who is paying for your education.... telling him, of the next three
companies.... April 4, 11, and 18th... Which one should he invest in - with
$100,000.  He is not a long term investor and he will sell whatever stock you
recommend on May 2nd, 2002. What we want here is not a stock pick, but a
logic trail... WHY is the company going to succeed. (If you want.... you can
have your Uncle Howard go short and SELL any one of these companies instead.)

4. Due: by 6pm May 16h.... write a memo: 500 words...telling us how you
would improve the course for next year.
