Control Rod Crisis

The control rods are the 'dumb' mechanism which are manipulated using the overhead crane. The rods will be designed such that, after automatic reset, asymmetric weighting ensures that they always roll into a position where they can be easily picked up. The crane hook will also be designed such that it can hook a control rod in any orientation on the floor.
