The explorers are walking around Hatshepsut's crypt and examining the artifacts. Suddenly her sarcophagus begins to shake! The rattling sarcophagus draws the explorers' attention and prompts them to inspect it more closely.
Mechanism
The sarcophagus is mounted on springs and connected to a crank and motor. The springs, crank, and motor are hidden beneath the sarcophagus and cannot be seen by the explorers. Similar to a shake table used for seismic testing, the sarcophagus shakes when the motor is on. The motor can be programmed to turn on automatically every thirty seconds.

User Experience
When the explorers clap the three statues' hands at the same time, Hatshepsut's guardian gods summon her spirit. The sarcophagus springs open, revealing a terrifying mummy.
Mechanism
The lid is connected to the sarcophagus base with hinges, and servo motors control the opening and closing of the lid. The servo motors are programmed to automatically open the lid when the explorers touch the three statues' hands simultaneously. The motors are also programmed to automatically close the lid after the explorers leave the room.
