Pokémon Go is a complex game with many different types of users. However, it is successful in allowing trainers to immerse themselves in the world of Pokémon. As I design the puzzle room, I will try to keep in mind what makes games such as Pokémon Go so much fun. Specifically, creating a community, which for the puzzle room will mean having a way for teams to work together to succeed.
Pokémon Go also shows that it is possible for people to immerse themselves in a new world without being completely surrounded by it. Users become Pokémon trainers even though their portal to this other world is only the size of a smartphone, and yet they are completely invested. This will help to inform the design of the puzzle room, and the graphics that set the theme of the room. They don't need to be completely accurate or overly detailed to get the meaning across.
