My own experience with the doors is quite frustrating. Living in an apartment building, my wife (the siren in the pictures below) and I find ourselves wildly clicking away at the garage door. This is especially frustrating when entering the building as we live on a busy street.
Mentally preparing to use the remote...again
Furthermore, despite the $30 price, the remote is constructed cheaply. It readily falls apart and off of our visor. It even broke down during our photo shoot! To avoid this, and in some areas to prevent theft, we often place the remote in the glove box. Now we need to reach across the car and fumble around to open the door.
Worst of all, sometimes we don’t even have the remote in the car for one reason or another. Now we need to exit the car, ring the concierge, and ask to be let in.
All of this pales in comparison to the torture of manually opening the door during our teenage years, but we can still do better.

An astute observer might notice the control panel in the top left of the garage opening. That's our target reciever. Even after living in the same building for nearly 9 months, we cannot consistently hit that box or recall its precise location.
