The Tale of Arthur the Branch

Both men skipped supper and was about to skipped breakfast too when the toymaker stated, "I know what she needs."* The toymaker then went to the corner and grab Arthur.

"This is the end. Goodbye my friends. I should have been happy before. All that time spent sighing is now lost," Arthur said. But to Arthur surprise, he was not tossed into the fireplace. He was instead brought the the workbench. The toymaker used all his tools on Arthur and worked through the night.

In the morning when the toymaker was done, Arthur was new shape but could not tell what it was. He was shoved into a dark pocket but he heard the familar rattling sound of the son's piece of wood ("called a rattle", Arthur remembered.). "The baby must be nearby," Arthur thought.

Then the toymaker left the shop and went on some kind of journey. Arthur could not hear clearly from the pocket but he thought at least the Woodcutter and the baby must be making the journey because he could occasionally hear the muffled voice of the Woodcutter and the rattle of the baby's rattle.
