Abstract |
|||
For those who have innovative
ideas, but cannot read or write music, or for those who wish to compose
more efficiently, this system will allow a person to play a simple
tune on an instrument, and obtain a corresponding piece of sheet music
on a video output. The system is made up of two main parts: a pitch
detection/filter module, and a video output module. The pitch detector/filter
will determine the note being played based on the frequency of the
input. Then, the video component will correctly draw the note being
played onto a staff on a screen. The note images outputted will be
stored in a ROM. To demonstrate the proof-of-concept, we will limit
our compositions to only simple notes first without rhythms.
