Conference Planning and Organization

GCWS Conferences are organized by students for students in Women's and Gender Studies at any college and university. Developed with the advice and mentorship of the GCWS Program Coordinator and Board of Directors, the group of student organizers from GCWS member institutions collaboratively select the conference theme, develop and implement the vision for the event and subsequent activities, select faculty and student presenters, and manage the logistics of the 2-day event.

If you are interested in co-organizing the next conference or have an idea for an interesting conference theme, email the GCWS Program Manager.

Submitting Work and Presentations

The focus of each conference is to showcase graduate student work in the field of Women's and Gender Studies. Presentations range from panels to individual paper presentations, to hands-on workshops, all depending on the particular conference theme. Students interested in presenting must read that year's Call for Proposals for specific submission guidelines.
