MIT Department of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation is seeking a Head Coach of Women’s Basketball / Assistant Director of Compliance
RESPONSIBILITIES: As the Head Coach, this position has the responsibility for the administration, management, oversight and development of a competitive Division III basketball program in a manner consistent and responsive to the philosophy and objectives of MIT and the Department of Athletics, Physical Education, and Recreation (DAPER). This position will also have responsibilities in the area of NCAA and institutional compliance. MIT supports 33 NCAA Division III programs and 8 programs (Crew) that compete at the Division I level (non-scholarship)
QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor’s degree is required, a Master’s degree preferred. The successful candidate should have 3-5 years coaching experience, preferably at the collegiate level. Administrative experience in at the collegiate level is preferred. In addition, he/she should possess strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment. Appropriate certifications in First Aid, CPR, and Biohazards are required or successful candidate should be willing to complete certification within one year upon hire.

Assistant Men's and Women's Swimming Coach
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology seeks a part-time assistant swimming coach. The assistant coach will report to Head Men's and Women's Swimming coach and assist in all aspects of daily planning and training of team members; recruiting; developing and assisting with the dryland and strength training program and administrative duties.
This is a part-time position (September - March) with additional employment opportunities at MIT's Zesiger Athletic Center.
Candidates should have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree with experience coaching at the college, highschool or club level. In addition, he/she should possess strong communication skills and the ability to work with highly achieving student-athletes.

Athletics Coaching/Administrative Intern
MIT Department of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation is seeking an Athletics Coaching/Administrative Intern
RESPONSIBILITIES: With an increase in the diversity population of campus, the Department of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation (DAPER) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) seeks to attract minority candidates for an assistant coaching/administrative internship position in athletics. This 12 month internship position is designed to provide a practical application of administrative experience in the operational components of a broad based program in NCAA Division III athletics, along with the opportunity to serve as an assistant coach in a designated sport related to the successful candidate’s abilities and interests.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree required and some coaching experience is preferred. The successful candidate should be a minority as classified by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. The successful candidate is expected to know, understand and adhere to NCAA and NEWMAC conference rules and regulations. Excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic and the ability to work in a team oriented environment are essential. Manager of Intercollegiate Equipment Operations
MIT Department of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation is seeking a Manager of Intercollegiate Equipment Operations
RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary function of this position is the management of all intercollegiate equipment for DAPER. Manager will supervise full time, part time and student staff in support of the intercollegiate equipment operation on a daily basis. It is the expectations of the Department that this position will aspire to a high level of service through excellent communication with staff and coaches on a regular basis. A consistent interface with coaches and staff will be one of the keys for success in this position.
QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a high school degree, college degree preferred. Three or more years experience in equipment operations or related field. Experience with the following computer programs; Microsoft word, excel, email, and ability to learn MIT payroll and billing systems. Prior personnel management experience needed. Candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Individual must be able to multitask and work in a team environment. Successful candidate must have current equipment certification or willingness to obtain certification within a reasonable period of time.

Prerequisites: MIT Student. Knowledge of specific sport rules helpful, but not necessary.
Starting Dates: August 30th and beyond, depending on the sport's schedule.
Description: Persons needed to assist in the management of MIT varsity home competitions. Duties will vary based upon sport, but examples include: scorekeeper, timekeeper, linesmen, video operator, ball person and chains person. Candidates may work more than one sport and more than one season.
