4/28/11- Athletic Support Staff Appreciation Day:The SAAC celebrated the 65 DAPER staff members who go above and beyond every day to serve MIT student-athletes. Our third-annual Staff Appreciation Day handed out thank you notes written by varsity athletes to each staff member and offered an array of goodies, including the coveted chocolate covered strawberries hand-made by appreciative SAAC members. DAPER staff, we thank you for all your hard work!

3/18/2010- Experience MIT: Once again, SAAC hosted an event for middle school students from the Boston Collegiate Charter School. Kids were given an introduction to MIT, tours of labs, and played in several athletic games in the Z-center!

3/19/2010- Experience MIT: On March 19th, SAAC hosted an event for 100 6th graders from the Boston Collegiate Charter School (BCCS). The kids spent a day at MIT touring labs and participating in a number of athletic activities. Thanks to the help from athletes, coaches, faculty, and other students, the day was a huge success and the kids had a great time!

2/22/10- Athletic Support Staff Appreciation Day: Year after year athletic teams have special recognitions or acknowledgements for coaches and trainers that work closely with each team. However, support staff that work behind the scenes rarely are recognized for their efforts. On February 22, SAAC held its first Athletic Support Staff Appreciation Day, with a goal of showing that each Student-Athlete does realize and appreciate the work of support staff. Almost 100 staff members were invited to enjoy a variety of refreshments at the Z-Center for several hours, and were each given thank you notes written by Student-Athletes from MIT Varsity sports. Those invited to attend ranged from custodial staff to sports medicine trainers to DAPER administration members. Strong support from Varsity Student-Athletes and SAAC sponsorship led the day to be a success, with over 50 staff members turning out to the event and every thank you note being delivered. Thanks again to all the staff members that make MIT Sports possible!

10/11/09- MIT Beaver Dash : This 5k race across campus was a huge success, and a large group of students, faculty, staff, and parents participated. Proceeds went to construction of an MIT Habit home in Kenya.

9/26/09- Komen Race for the Cure: SAAC promoted participation in this event which received volunteers from several varsity teams.
