Web Pages!

Each web page is uniquely identified by its address, which usually looks like:

http://www.braintrust.org/resources/booklist.html

--OR--

http://web.mit.edu/braintrust/www/

Using the first example, each of these web addresses includes:

http:// - Protocol (HTTP)
www - Host computer name
braintrust - Second-level domain name
org - Top-level domain name
resources - Directory name
booklist.html - File name (HTML format)

In other words most links to web pages are of the format:
protocol://host.domain/directory/filename.htm
