I think you are correct that even in the US there are only a small number of
distributors that have more than a handful of titles. That would include
Third World Newsreel, Women Make Movies, New Yorker, etc. More importantly
if you do decide to go ahead and present such an award, I don't see why
Toshiba should be mentioned in the name of the award if they won't help
fund it. It's free publicity for them and they can afford to pay for
publicity.
