ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
The community voices conference will bring together regional organisations,
independent practitioners and the MISA membership in order to strengthen
ties and make an action plan for the establishment and support of
independent electronic and community media in the region. The conference
will also concretise plans for the eastern & southern African network for
community media and lay the groundwork for the establishment of the
southern African network for independent and democratic television and
video practitioners.

ACCOMMODATION
Delegate will be accommodated at either Club Makokola or Nkopola Lodge,
both are situated in a beach front setting on the shores of Lake Malawi.
Both hotels are of international standard and offer restaurants, beach
bars, swimming pools and all water sports are catered for. Tennis Courts
are available.
TRAVEL
Air Malawi is the recommended carrier for the Community Voices Conference.
All visitors to Malawi are required to pay an airport departure tax of
US$20. Please check with your nearest Malawi Diplomatic Mission for current
visa requirements. If you have any difficulty in arranging transfers from
Lilongwe or Blantyre to Mangochi Lakeshore please contact the conference
coordinator.
