>A RESPONSE TO AMBER VOGEL/SARAH BYATT'S
>REQUEST FOR HELP RE EAST AFRICA
I can see that the intent to gather white man's emotional response to
Africa's nature is starting to raise some offense. Understandably so I
would say, as not seeing the people living in this landscape has been very
much what Europeans have chosen to do for too long. May I suggest an other
angle, by also focusing on visitors who came and were rude enough to speak
their mind (and so their prejudices)? - take Evelyn Waugh's book "Remote
people" as a suggestion.
