    An Epidemic of ADD or a Matter of Overdiagnosis?

      1. This information is available over the internet and is also distributed in printed form by the National Institute for Mental Health and is made available to doctors to distribute to patients. The booklet was written by Sharyn Neuwirth, M.Ed., an education writer and instructional designer with information provided by doctors and psychologists.

      2. Children and adults are written about seperately as they exhibit different symptoms of the same disorder and children are often described as being hyperactive as well attention deficit. The article discussing different methods of treatment but does not speak extensively about doctors or psychologists.

      3. This pamphlet presents accurate information from a reliable source. The information is unbiased and allows persons to learn more about the disorder to help in diagnosis. It also presents alternatives to ADD as the cause of symptoms which are associated with ADD. It is useful to persons who are uninformed about ADD who are struggling to understand the disorder and its affect on them. There is a large amount of information presented in a clear manor. The source is believable.
