Past Games

The Assassins' Guild runs many games over the course of a semester. The games are typically two to six hours long, but we've been known to run threedays (games that take place every night over the course of three days), and even tendays - epic games that last more than a week and a half and can include up to sixty players, or more!

But don't worry about the time constraint. As an MIT student group, we understand that academics come first. This is why most of our games are one-night events that only take up several hours, and most of the action in tendays happens primarily in the evenings.

We run games of many different genres. Just in the past year or so, we've had games set in fantasy medieval China, aboard steampunk Victorian airships, in the futuristic Vatican, in the Dr. Who universe, in a Cold War Soviet submarine, in a disturbed version of Candyland, and even in the Matrix. We also run SIK (Society for Interactive Killing) games, where live-action combat, military-like command structures and tactical planning are important components of the game. Plus, if there's a type of game you really want to see, you can always write your own.

On our website, you can find the list of Scheduled Games, and the list of Past Games. Here are just a few games we've run in the past On this page are links to example character sheets in .pdf format from some games we've run in the past. Enjoy!

Theseus Scenario

(by Telmo Correa, Ekaterina Kuznetsova, Dave Leung, Clint Lohse, Eli Stickgold, and Jim Waldrop)
A one-night SIK game set in the Albanian Heavy Industries' Angels and Blades universe.
You can see the Original Blurb for the game, and the Full Description.

Only the Holy See

(by Laura Baldwin, Charles Hope, Clint Lohse, and Jay Munchij)
A spy-themed tenday. It is 2050, and the Pope has just died. All the spies and religious orders of the world have come to the Vatican to oversee the election of the new Pope, and much, much more... Here is a poster about the game on our website. The game's website, which includes newspaper articles, photos and all sort of in-game information can be found here. Here is a sampling of some sheets from the game:

Road to Impunity

(by Ken Clary, Peter Litwack, and William Lowenthal)
A four hour long 1930s prohibition-era mobster game. It takes inspiration from various places, like the movies Miller's Crossing and Road to Perdition. The blurb reads:

The Boss of Springfield is dead.

His final request was to be buried in his birthplace of Impunity, Illinois, now a ghost town. All persons of import from Springfield have made their way to Impunity for the Boss's wake and funeral, and now many of them have headed back.

A few remain to attend to some important business.
