Present Yourself Like a Star: Speaking Skills That Will Get You Noticed

If you want to make a powerful, positive impression on others when you speak, professionally and socially, then this is the IAP event for you! Presenting yourself well is the key to making great impressions on your audience, because others will judge you and your ideas based less on what you say and more on how you say it. A well-organized, effective presentation reflects all the other qualities you want to convey, and shows you are thorough... organized... thoughtful... clear-thinking... confident.

This IAP course will not only give you the didactic understanding of what it takes to present yourself in an engaging and effective way, you will also have the opportunity to get hands-on, practical experience in interpersonal communication. (The first meeting is the didactic component, with live examples of teaching points, and subsequent meetings will be applied skills.)

The course will be taught by Odysseus Argy, MD, founder of Odyssey Health Communications, Inc., and TV host of "Doctors On Call." Using fundamental elements of effective communication skills, he has developed innovative, yet still intuitive, techniques to teach surgeons how to organize and present themselves on their oral board examinations, with dramatic, and statistically significant, improvements in exam performance.

Dr. Argy will share these fundamental elements with you in this IAP course, and show you how to combine and build on these elements to successfully present yourself in any setting you choose. Topics in the didactic portion will include: verbal and non-verbal communication, making solid first impressions, judging your audience, keeping someone’s attention, and how to prioritize and organize information, then deliver it optimally.

Whatever you want to do -- showcase your startup company, shine at a job interview, present yourself comfortably and capably anywhere -- Present Yourself Like a Star will help you do it!
