INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1.0 Alias

1.1 The Platform
Alias is used as the 3D platform for output of the generated data. It can be viewed in wireframe mode or, in the case of surface generation, be looked at in shaded view. The geometries can then be exported in the variety of formats offered by Alias.

2.0 The Plugin

2.1 Loading and Unloading
The plugin is initially installed through the modifier menu bar in the top right of the window under "plugin-options". One has to specify the location of the plugin directory and the file.plugin about to be installed (not to be mixed up with the source code tree.c++ which is a seperate file). After selecting the file and pressing "Install plugin", the prompt should write a line specifying the location of the new plugin installation in the tools menus on the left.
Once the plugin has been installed it should appear in the list of plugins available under the name moss and have a check mark in both boxes. If any of the code is changed and recompiled, it is necessary to click on the load/unload boxes to unload and then reload the plugin for the changes to be effective.

2.2 Adjusting the Filepaths
The plugin depends on an external text file data.txt for getting parameter and grammar input. Its location is specified in the c++ file currently named tree.++ in line 1142. If the location of any of the files is changed, the filepath has to be adjusted accordingly to point the new location of data.txt, and tree.c++ has to be recompiled and reloaded as a plugin afterwards.
