Get Replacements for Keys and Locks

Repairing existing locks and door hardware are community services. Changing or installing new locks is a special service and includes a fee.

Basic Services (Use the "Building Repair Form" in SAPweb)

  • Issuing a key to a new employee
  • Replacing a damaged key
  • Repairing broken locks

Special Services (Requires a Fee. Select Internal Provider in SAP.)

  • Issuing 10 or more keys
  • Installing, changing, or replacing locks
  • Temporary room lock changes
  • Re-keying buildings

Request a Service

  • The key request form is a PDF document that may be downloaded and filled out either online or by hand. Please note that you cannot save a PDF document online.
  • After filling out the key request form, it must be signed by an authorized MIT staff member. The form can then be delivered in person or sent by mail to Room E18-172.
  • Office hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.
