The final scene of the french version left me confused. What
do people think is the message of the scene? I figured it might
be saying something along the lines that Marie's maturity has
outgrown that of her mother, but I can't be sure.

I'm often left a little confused after French films. It seems that
French movie producers like unexplained endings in their movies.
How do French people view this situation? Do you guys have more success
in interpreting the endings of French movies because you're used
to them?
