About: reluctance to reveal emotion?

I had the opposite reaction. I thought that the "trois hommes"
were not too attached to Marie, and I was surprised by how
sad they were after she left. I thought Jacques' reaction--
playing pregnant with the pillow--was somewhat extreme. I
believed Jack missed Mary, and wasn't as surprised by his
emotions. Perhaps the men's emotions in the American version
were expressed in a manner more understandable to me.
