About IAP: Dates and Deadlines

Independent Activities Period (IAP) is a special four week term at MIT that runs from the first week of January until the end of the month. IAP 2017 began on Monday, January 9, 2017 and ended on Friday, February 3, 2017.

Members of the MIT Community planning to attend and/or organize IAP offerings should make note of these important dates and deadlines:

• Fall 2016: IAP posting systems became available. Organizers submitted activity descriptions via the online posting systems. To ensure maximum exposure to the MIT Community, organizers were advised to post completed listings by the first week of November, and as they became available.
• January 9, 2017: IAP 2017 began
• February 3, 2017: IAP 2017 ended
• February 8, 2017: Deadline for submission of IAP grades.

Student Deadlines

• December 1: Students began IAP pre-registration on WebSIS.
• January 13: IAP Pre-Registration Deadline. Deadline for all students to pre-register for IAP for-credit subjects.
