Seminar on Growing a Personal Research Program

Fall 2009

Welcome to UCD's "Seminar on Growing a Personal Research Program", taught by Professor Thomas J. Allen. Professor Allen is the Director of Academic Centre, National Institute of Technology Management (NITM) - UCD Michael Smurfit School of Business at the University College Dublin (UCD). In addition, he is the Howard W. Johnson Professor Emeritus at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) at the Sloan School of Management in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

We will be meeting once a month on Fridays in Room E116 from 10.30 - 13.00.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Letter to Students,

If you recall at the end of Friday, October 16th seminar, we agreed that everyone would write up an abstract of a paper they might (no commitment) submit for the 2010 AoM conference.

Please do not worry about how rough or preliminary your abstract will be.  And please do not worry about criticism.  Our purpose is to help one another!  We will do just that!  At the end of class on Friday, November 13th, we will have a set of more polished and almost-ready-for-submission abstracts.

If at all possible, please submit your abstract via email to Joanne McHugh jamchugh@mit.edu by Monday, November 9th.  Joanne will distribute them to the class.

I am looking forward to doing this and to seeing all of you again on Friday, November 13th.

Sincerely yours,

Thomas J. Allen
