The previous workshops have helped to formulate the conceptual framework of this emerging research field and, more importantly, to establish a vibrant and interactive community. The Singapore 2014 workshop will highlight recent developments in this interdisciplinary field and promote the exchange among scientists from different backgrounds and continents. The scientific program of the workshop will focus on the intriguing effects of quantum coherence in photosynthesis and other complex biological processes. The workshop will also feature progress in optical spectroscopy, single molecule measurements, entanglement, quantum dissipation, coherent transport, optimal control, and computational methods. Further, this workshop will showcase how the insights learnt from the biological systems can guide the optimal design of artificial systems with potential applications to solar cells and chemical sensors.
