Roumyana Pancheva is Assistant Professor in the Department of Linguistics, and the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures at the University of Southern California. Her research interests include syntax, semantics, and their interface, language change, and neurolinguistics. She received her Ph.D. in 2000 from the University of Pennsylvania. Some recent publications are “The Rise and Fall of Second-Position Clitics,” in Natural Language and Linguistic Theory; (with Rajesh Bhatt) “Late Merge of Degree Clauses,” in Linguistic Inquiry; and “The Aspectual Makeup of Perfect Participles and the Interpretations of the Perfect” in Perfect Explorations (Mouton de Gruyter).
