MIT Kerberos for Macintosh 3.5 Release Notes |
MIT Kerberos for Macintosh 3.5 is a major release of MIT Kerberos for Macintosh which introduces several new UI elements and CarbonLib compatibility. Many of the components have changed names to fit into future designs better.
Requirements: A PowerPC Macintosh running Mac OS 8.1 through 9.1. Compatible with Mac OS X's Classic enivornment.New Features in MIT Kerberos for Macintosh 3.5
Kerberos Control Panel
- New Ticket Information window lists details of TGTs and service tickets
- Expanded Preferences options, including floating window options and minimum and maximum allowed lifetimes
Kerberos Menu
- Displays status of active user's TGT
- Provides convenient acquisition, deletion and renewal of tickets
- Allows easy switching between active users
Kerberos Control Strip
- Displays status of active user's TGT
- Can display active user's principal and remaining ticket lifetime
- Provides convenient acquisition, deletion and renewal of tickets
- Allows easy switching between active users
Kerberos Floating Window
- Displays status of all authenticated users' TGTs
- Display all users' principals and relative lifetime indicator
- Provides convenient acquisition, deletion and renewal of tickets
- Allows easy switching between active users
- Close box can be disabled
Carbon
- Carbon versions of all KfM libraries for use with CarbonLib applications
Other Improvements
- Kerberos v4 long lifetime support
- Kerberos Login dialog displays Caps Lock warning
- More K5Client fixes
- Better support for changing password with hardware preauthentication
- Fixed problems that prevented machines from going to sleep
