Donated software is limited to CAD/CAM/CAE applications used by
General Motors—primarily, but not exclusively, the suite offered
by EDS PLM Solutions. If there
are other CAD/CAM/CAE applications that would be useful for you
at MIT please contact the MIT
PACE coordinator. PACE will consider requests for other software
applications provided the criteria outlined above are met and there
is sufficient demand.
The spirit of arrangements with MIT is that software can be downloaded
and used strictly for academic purposes so long as the user
is a member of the MIT community and is connected to the MIT network.
However, each software application has its own specific terms of
use (available on the download page for each application) and if
your intended use does not conform to the agreement, use of the
software is not permitted. In such instances you may contact the
MIT PACE coordinator
and, if appropriate, a petition for special use will be made to
the PACE program.
