Veriak says they intend to frighten us and drive us from our places of safety.

We decide to head to Votania and check on things.

We teleport up to the orb room. We slip out of the orb room. The main vault of the emporer is still sealed thank goodness. We scout and find the people are mostly in a cleared area down where the lower palace is.

We head down to scout their dig.

They've lot's of diggers and some guards. They've also got some invisible space arine guards with giant blaster cannons. Whoa. Oathar investigates one of the three erected huts, and finds it's a barracks. Alynna investigates the other two (after some problems with her head blowing up). One is a kitchen/eatery and a little hospital ward type deal.

They detect us before we can investigate the last building. As they converge on our position, we teleport into the last building. It's the store room. Alynna grabs some blaster batteries. Oathar grabs some Laen and Eog bars. Kyrik starts grabbing books. Haeraan looks for intelligence. Imre makes the guards we put to sleep forget.

Oathar then grabs a decorative screen thing. (Wooden frame with a mithril panel carved into it.) Haeraan casts literacy, and then takes some document with lists of guards and guard rotations and standing ROE. Haeraan finds a memo about Ground Support Squadron Alpha. Oathar grabs a couple of PADDs, Alynna grabs a BFG Blaster Rifle.

We retreat, but get a tad greedy and go back to study a space marine. Sigh, they laser blast us.

Kyrik's books: 25% tech manuals for weird stuff (laser drill?, ground penetrating radar?); 25% books on intro archeology; 25% bizzare tales of adventures between the stars; 25% stuff related to the dig (records of stuff dug up, notations about running the camp).

Oathar has a dozen eog bars and a dozen laen bars, and a mitrhil screen. Plus an Encyclopedia Galactica PADD, as well as a dig data recorder PADD. Oathar puts the PADDs in lead boxes because they can be tracked.

Haeraan got papers on a platoon of Terragen Space Marines. ROE = Not supposed to shoot anything without order from higher ups unless fired upon or someone is in possession of tech. Various studies of the mountain with a reasonably complete map. Geologic and hydrologic analyses of stuff, whatever that means. There are caverns at the base of the mountain. They have a set of two squadrons of six. Six Darts (ground support) and six Nighthawks (ground support and intercept). They're based at Orbital Platform Alpha (added to the to be sacked list). Papers are all written in Terran.

There are many repeated notes about searches for Sianetic Harbinger tech. The Encyclopedia Galatica says the SH's are the progenitor race of the galaxy. Their empire ended 100,000 years ago, and they explored the galaxy and seeded the precursors to humanoid life and intelligence across the galaxy. Lot's of cross references to other planets including reference to Ceril VII (Kulthea).

There's a gravitic barrier, so ships that went down here crashed. But suddenly (when the Northern Eye vanished) they reestablished communications with their orbital ship. The early crashed people found the Brotherhood of the Holy Word. The primatives worship gods.

That night, Reanne says that these guys are serious, and taking them out will be significantly more difficult than the Dragon of Tovor. Darts and Nighthawks could shred us in a shot.
