Session 376

In which our heroes ...

Orhan 3 Day 43 TE 6063

We discuss our laser turret plans.

Haeraan gets a dream of darkness and a bunch of voices calls out in the darkness. Then a raspy voice says, they have perished master. Fed to the bird. A big deep lugraki voice says, It is her again, is it not?" The first says,"yes, master." "Very well create me a minion that will destroy her." "Yes master."

Well, that's very conforting.

We wonder if Nynaku is fussing around with the lugraki directly.

Oh yeah, there was the unkillable lugraki Alynna fought last time.

Only evil things get the blessing of "can't die".

We fuss about what to do for a while, since clearly both Eissa and Rianne want us to go deal with that thing.

Imre goes to the island of Nomikos to investigate undying orcs. He'd like access to the restricted stacks and has to explain himself to the librarian before she will let him in. Imre finally gets to see the book. He finds that if you sacrifice a bunch of victims, then your champion can be killed N times, where N is the number of victims, since the deaths are all prepaid, as it were. All the ways to finish him are really annoying. One that looks interesting is killing him while he on a different plane from his sacrifices. Or you could make the necessary god a better offer. Or just run him out of lives by killing him a whole lot. But he can refil his debit card with mor esacrifices in real time. Sigh.

Sadly, Imre severely underestimates how hard it will be to perform a counter ritual in real time.

While we are examining Imre's proposed counter-ritual, Blinky shows up and says, do it exactly like that. Remember, change nothing. Imre burns the counter ritual notes immediately after Blinky's departure.

Orhan 3 Day 44 TE 6063

We head to Zor to scout where we last saw that guy. Imre started casting spells and then black gates appears and a smell of death comes out of them as he casts. Finally, a little girl with a black viel steps out from the gates with a scythe. She's disappointed that it's not our time and asks why she's here.

She points us in the right direction. which happens to be to the northwest. We go invisble and flying and head towards a village up there. It's near the shore of the bay of Ulor. The village is burning. The guy in teh center is slaying people one by one with a magical staff spear. The four armed lugraki is absorbing the power.

We attack! Spear guy takes a hit! He drops the staff. Alynna plunges her hand into his heart. Then the four armed lugraki picks up the spear and prays to the sky. "Oh great lord! As you foretold, my great test begins now!" A cloud passes and Charon is glowing balefully red in the sky. The four armed lugraki is immulinated by the glow, and then suddenly becomes encased in unholy armor and hods a sowrd and shield in addition to his spear.

Haeraan teleports some of the potential sacrifices away. The lugraki will not be denied however, and says, "May it strike true upon my enemies!" and throws his spear. It kills seven of the sacrifices even while deflected. It teleports back to his hand. Sigh.

Imre tries to attack the staff. It fails to break. In addition, Imre collapses andstuns himself for nine rounds.

Alynna attacks, but finds the bad guy is over DB 200. Kyrik teleports many more of the bound victims out of the area. Oathar summons rain to put out the village. he says, "It's too late for that now. The power of his sacrifices can only be stopped with a sacrifice of our own."

The second time though, Imre manages to get a split through to the staff. In retribution, the four armed lugraki attacks Imre. He chops Imre's arm off.

Then the bad guy does an elf-slaying crit to Alynna. Alynna drops and dies. He chops her arm off. And he stuns her for a long time. However, between her fate points and lionheart spells, she stays up. Sadly, this only causes him to attack again. (Stupid 4 armed guys.) She somehow stays up.

Oathar says, "it's time to decide what you are willing to do!" and tosses the Dagger of Dimensional Folding into the field. Kyrik does not pick it up, but Alynna does and uses her last strength to throw it at him. He sneers at her puny attack and then screams and shinks into a tiny ball and vanishes. Alynna falls over dead. The rest of the lugraki are not so special and they leave, while they are killed by Haeraan. Haeraan kills a few, as does Kyrik hwile Oathar kneels over Alynna's body and prays to Cay. Kyrik tries to kill a bunch of them in rage as they flee, shooting a bunch of them in the back.

Imre's angel friend shows up and scolds Imre. The little angel lifts the soul up out of Alynna's body. Imre collects up the body. (We happen to be here in Imre's duchie of Zor at the moment.)

Folks put the fishermen back.

Doom!!
