Symposium

Dates
May 21 and May 22, 2003

Over two days -- May 21 and 22, 2003 – forty-eight participants representing convention, exhibition and meeting industry leaders, technology company executives and MIT faculty and staff, gathered at MIT as part of an invitation-only research symposium. The focus of the event was to explore ways in which emerging Web service application technology might support industry-wide innovation and productivity. The symposium concluded with industry leaders setting a deadline of no later than September 15, 2003, to form an industry/MIT consortium to engage research and development, based on the challenges and opportunities laid out in the symposium.
