* aerial images since 1974 show dramatic increase in vegetation in inner city and dramatic drop in vegetation in suburbs * increased vegetation leads to increased fauna -- deer, ring-necked pheasant, peregrine falcons are common
* pheasant population is so large, State Department of Natural Resources has been arresting people for game poaching of pheasants for food * state DRN has also been trapping pheasants and releasing them in Northern Michigan under a breeding program
