The MIT Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Initiative (PHARMI) is a multi-disciplinary research effort within the MIT Program on the Pharmaceutical Industry (POPI) that focuses on a wide array of issues relating to pharmaceutical manufacturing. Issues include new technology evaluation, operations strategy, information technology, supply-chain management, performance measurement, benchmarking and organizational learning. Some of work is conducted in conjunction with the Consortium for the Advancement of Manufacturing of Pharmaceuticals (CAMP). PHARMI also involves a significant pharmaceutical manufacturing benchmarking effort as part of the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Benchmarking Project.
