  Mission Statement

The mission of the Massachusetts ACE Network is to identify, support and advance women in all segments of Massachusetts higher education and to promote the diversity of women and their contributions in Massachusetts higher education.

To fulfill its mission, The Network supports networking for career opportunities and professional growth for women in higher education and its associated organizations, collaborates with others who promote the advancement of women in higher education, and advocates for policies, priorities, and practices that concern women in higher education at the local, regional, and national levels."

Theme for 1999-2000 --
"Unwritten Rules, Overcoming Obstacles"

The Massachusetts Executive Board chose "Unwritten Rules, Overcoming Obstacles" as this year’s theme. It refers to not just a "glass ceiling" but in many cases a "glass house or fence". An organization may appear open and free to support movement and career advancement as well as new ideas, change, and collaborative leadership, but in reality those options are often outside of the house or fence. We need to facilitate putting in gates and windows so that these choices are reachable.

The Massachussetts ACE Network has designed this year’s programming to reflect the challenges women in higher education face in this environment.
