Master Aleksandr Ruslanovich and Lady Morwenna Westerne :
We can't see anything keeping us from holding the position for at
least four years. We recently bought a lovely house in the barony,
there is zero chance of either one of us getting transferred for work,
and we're not planning on moving out of the area. We have
well-established lives here.

Mistress Caitlin Davies :
Master Justin du Coeur :
And no, I don't see any reason why we couldn't hold the posts for that
long. I plan on watching and pacing myself to avoid quick burnout, and
have no intention of taking on any other tasks that would get in the
way...
Lady Godith Anyon :
Lady Emmanuelle de Chenonceaux :
Master Seamus Donn :
Mistress Gwendolyn of Middlemarch :
Lord Kali Harlansson of Gotland :
So I'll answer your constituent's instead: Gwendolyn and I have no particular
duration in mind. We do intend to stay in office more than two years (Fate
willing, of course) - we believe we'd only really have found our style and be
hitting our stride in our second year. On the other end, I gave up the
seneschal's position after five years, and that felt about right, and Aquel &
Johanna are giving up the Coronet after six, and *that* feels about right, so
five or six years seems likely. BUT, anyone who comes around after 4 years
11 months and starts asking impertinent questions will suffer The Displeasure
Of The Coronet (that's just Kali talking, not Gwendolyn, she'd never say
anything like that).
Seigneur Jehan du Lac :
Master John McGuire :
Shi Hua Fu and Lady Yelizaveta Medvedeva :
I don't see any reason why Justin and I couldn't, or wouldn't, hold the
office for at least four years. We're thinking around 5 years, give or
take, but have no explicit term in mind.
On the more pointed question, which seems the more pertinent one: we
haven't made any real decisions about how long we'd like to hold the
job, but five years seems to be a fairly sensible stretch. I have to
admire Aquel and Johanna for deciding to step down *before* burning out
- -- it shows uncommon wisdom, and it's a good lesson.

Asteroid strike? We're pretty well settled in our
lives. I expect we'll get burned out after five years or so; that
seems to be a fairly standard interval.

I feel uncomfortable making gusrantees about what will happen in the future. I can make a commitment of three years, and don't see myself serving for much
more than five.
Three years would be my minimum. Five years would be my maximum. I wouldn't have accepted if I wasn't prepared to commit for at least three years. I think
doing it more than five years would deny the chance of service for other worthy gentles.

My current expectation is to hold the post about 5
years. This is only a guess based on my perception of
the post at this time. My perceptions may radically
alter when I am actually in the post.
Your question is ambiguous: do you mean if I now know of anything preventing?
(no I don't), or if I can imagine anything that could prevent? (yes I can).

I expect to make a commitment for at least five years. As much as
baronial elections are a pain, I think it is good to get new blood in
periodically. Like George Washington's voluntary stepping down after 2
terms, Johanna & Aquel are giving us the opportunity to strengthen and
have confidence in our process. I think they are setting a good
precedent.

Not offhand. I came into this planning on being willing to do a run
of at least 5 years. Any sooner just seems to soon to go through the
whole election process again.

If chosen, we intend to serve approximately 5 years. Change can be
good, but there's a need for continuity that a lesser term wouldn't
fill. We also wouldn't want to put the barony through this process
more often than that.
