Message from Dean Khoury

Dean Philip S. KhouryThis issue of soundings highlights some of the exciting work being done within SHASS. We set ourselves a difficult task in preparing this issue—not because it was hard to find the ten items we highlight in the following pages, but because it was hard to choose them. You'll notice we haven't called this a "top ten" list (in the tradition of David Letterman). Why not? Because we found we simply couldn't fit the wide range of interesting projects and happenings that occur at SHASS into any sort of hierarchy. So instead of a top ten, think of this as a "random ten"—a selection of interesting facts about SHASS which showcase the incredible depth and breadth of the creative work that takes place in the school.
