"In the middle of the journey of my life, I came to myself in a dark wood where the straight way was lost..."

Slippage, the innovative new performance collective led by MIT Associate Professor of Theatre Arts Thomas DeFrantz, will present and experimental performance work "Ennobling Nonna" on the MIT Campus on the 11, 12, and 13 of March 2004, at 8:00pm.

Devised and performed by CW Post Professor of Acting, Maria Porter, Ennobling Nonna explores physical techniques of actor training alongside spoken text and digital media innovations.

The work tells the story of a woman who comes to embrace and Italian ancestry long denied. Crafted with an innovative layering of movement, speech, recorded music, digital projections, and everyday objects, Ennobling Nonna tells a story of autobiography through oblique and evocative imagery.
