Maria
Porter is proud to be a part of Slippage Theater’s
first season. Favorite credits include: Ranevskaya in
The Cherry Orchard (Obie Award Winning Salt Theater),
South, Feast, and Mrs. Worm
with Target Margin, Or and Therefore with The
Living Theater, and Rinne Groff’s Inky
with Clubbed Thumb/Salt Theater, and Anne Bogart’s
production of The Women.
Regionally
she’s performed at Hartford Stage, Virginia Stage,
Milwaukee Rep, Cornell Performing Arts Center, the Hangar
Theater, Stage West, and the Kennedy Center of Performing
Arts. Maria was one of the first members of the Resident
Professional Theater Company at Cornell Performing Arts
Center. Favorite film credit: the Mother in Hal Hartley’s
Henry Fool.
Internationally,
she’s worked with Tadahsi Suzuki, Odin Teatret,
and Teatro delle Radici. She has directed and taught many
an inspired student as faculty member of the Theater Department
at CW Post/ Long Island University.
