Building Business Opportunities from Technology Innovation – The MIT Way

The Deshpande Center at MIT is world famous for building business opportunities around Technology Innovation, and its approach is critical for economic growth in Singapore from the new knowledge-based economy.

Seminar and Networking Event (Limited to 130)
Venue: The Pod, Level 16, National Library Board
The lessons learned at MIT will be discussed in terms of the larger entrepreneurial ecosystem in Singapore. The expanded process of technological innovation will address the role of education, research grants, catalysts, mentorship, and the broader investment/entrepreneurship community. The challenge is to solve important societal problems with technology innovation. There is a gap, however, between technology, push and market pull that can be addressed by bringing market definition closer to technology development. Learn how this is done at MIT, using the Deshpande Center model and in the SMART Innovation Centre in Singapore. This seminar and the following networking event should be attended by anyone interested in further developing the Singapore ecosystem in knowledge-based entrepreneurship. The seminar will run from 5:30pm to 7:00pm and it will be followed by a networking event from 7:00pm to 9:00pm (refreshments and canapés will be served).

Best regards,
Howard Califano
Director, Smart Innovation Centre
