Installation and Signing In

If you encounter installation problems, remove all Meeting Maker files and reinstall Meeting Maker according to the instructions in the User Guide. For problems signing in, check below for a solution.
Q:
Why do I get an error on my PC workstation when I try to install and run Meeting Maker from the network file server?
A:
You must have read/write access to the network in order to install and run Meeting Maker from the network. Have your Meeting Maker Administrator check your network access.
Q:
I'm trying to sign in, but I can't see the Meeting Maker server. What's wrong?
A:
There are several reasons why you might not see a server when you try to sign in. Check with the Meeting Maker administrator to make sure that the server is running, and make sure that the correct protocol is selected, in the Select Server dialog box, then try again. Your Meeting Maker administrator can tell you which one to choose.
Q:
When I try to sign into my Windows server from a Macintosh, I do not see IPX in the protocol menu.
A:
Make sure that MacIPX (in the Control Panels folder) successfully loads at restart, and is set to the proper frame type.
Q:
When I try to sign into my server, there are no servers in the Select Server scroll box, when I select IPX from the protocol menu.
A:
Check the following:
(1) Is the Meeting Maker server running?
(2) Are you physically or logically connected to your network?
(3) Is your network physically or logically connected with the server's network?
(4) If you are on a Macintosh and selected Ethernet in the MacIPX control panel, did you select the same Frame type as your Meeting Maker server?
(5) If you made changes to the MacIPX control panel, did you restart the Macintosh?
Q:
I am trying to sign in to my server from a PC workstation and the Protocol menu is empty.
A:
The IPC.DRV and IPX.DRV drivers are missing from the MM directory. Reinstall Meeting Maker.
Q
Meeting Maker won't accept my user password.
A:
Passwords are case sensitive; make sure you type it exactly as you created it.
Q:
If I have Meeting Maker running on my own workstation, can I sign in on a different workstation and check my calendar?
A:
Yes. Information will be updated on both machines.
Q:
Can I dial in from a hotel room in another city to sign in and update my Meeting Maker schedule and respond to new meeting proposals?
A:
Meeting Maker works over the Internet via IP. If you have remote access, you can access your Meeting Maker account. Check with your System Administrator for further information.
